A SYRIAN migrant jailed for raping a schoolgirl has escaped from prison after starting an affair with a female warden.
Heavily tattooed Hassan Kiko, 27, vanished from his Swiss jail cell earlier this week, police say.
Officers
have now released pictures of 32-year-old prison guard Angela Magdici
who they believe freed her muscular lover before eloping with him.
The breakout is thought to have taken
place in the middle of the night when Magdici used the opportunity
when a male colleague was sleeping to free her tattooed lover.
Wardens said they had no idea that a relationship had developed between the two.
Prison director Roland Zurkirchen said: "As supervisors, we need to
maintain a professional relationship but sometimes it is necessary to
speak in confidence with inmates."
"This is part of building a
professional relationship and is part of everyday life. But
supervisors should also keep the proper distance, which in this case
did not happen.
Police say the breakout was
professionally planned and the two fugitives may already have left the
country after escaping from Limmattal jail.
They say that evidence so far indicates that the two had driven off in a black BMW X1 and were headed to Italy.
Kiko had been serving three years for raping a 15-year-old girl when he broke out of prison.
He claimed asylum in Switzerland in 2010 after claiming he had fled Syria after being imprisoned by Bashar al-Assad.
